BES signs MoU with MoWHS
The Ministry of Works and Human Settlement and Bhutan Ecological Society have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish and strengthen cooperation between the Ministry and BES on 24th June 2020 at Ministry of Works and Human Settlement, to support sustainability and energy efficiency in the building sector of Bhutan.
The organizations believe that the essence of the MoU is to enable collaborative activities and programs to share information regarding research, education, awareness creation to facilitate, capacity buildings of local professionals and to support local supply chains of energy efficient construction materials. The MoU was signed between Mr. Chencho Dorji, Secretary, MoWHS and Dr. Nawang Norbu, Executive Director, BES.
The Secretary of MoWHS mentioned that it’s a good initiative for the Civil Society Organizations to support and corporate with the Ministry to enable programs on awareness building and technology for sustainable energy efficient buildings across Bhutan.
The MoU would help complement each other’s capabilities and programs reach to, achieve a common goal of sustainable and energy efficient buildings across Bhutan.
