Voices of the Valley: Conservation through Community and Creativity

From May 5th to 8th, 2025, the Bhutan Ecological Society, in collaboration with the Pluc.TV and Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTFEC), organized a community engagement program under the “Mountains to Mangroves Initiative: Restoring Degraded Forests and Fallow Farmlands – 10 Million Trees by 2030” in Dogar Gewog, Paro. This initiative was supported by Conservation International.

As part of the program, experts from Pluc.TV conducted storytelling and digital communication training for local community members. The sessions focused on empowering participants to share conservation success stories and create compelling content that can drive global environmental action.

The event centered on the theme ‘Water for All’, underscoring the importance of freshwater conservation in the Eastern Himalayas and promoting community-led, nature-based water solutions and restoration practices.

A total of 26 community members participated in the initiative, which exemplified how environmental conservation and storytelling can be merged to amplify local voices, scale impact, and deepen engagement across diverse stakeholders.
