The School for Field Studies (SFS) 2024 Spring Semester Program has Begun

A three-month long Spring Semester Program on Himalayan Environment and Society in Transition
has begun from February 2, 2024, with a group of 27 undergraduate students from various
universities/colleges in the United States of America (USA). The Royal University of Bhutan (RUB),
the Bhutan Ecological Society (BES), and the SFS 1 Head Office based in Massachusetts, USA, jointly
run this interdisciplinary field-based course in Bhutan. During the Program, students are taught
three full courses: i) Political and Socioeconomic Dimensions of Environment; ii) Mountain Ecology;
and iii) Land Use, Natural Resources, and Conservation, and a two-credit course on Basic Language,
Religion, and Culture of Bhutan. The Spring Semester Program will conclude in early May.
