R programming training for environmental research concluded
Dr. Joshua Goldberg from Bhutan Ecological Society provided a week-long training on R programming to 20 faculty members and graduate students at College of Natural Resources, Lobesa, Punakha. The training, held from 5-9 April, 2021, was the first of its kind and introduced participants to the basics of R programming.
The R programming language is widely used data analysis and can be a powerful tool for data visualization. Compared to other popular statistical softwares such as Python, SAS, SPSS, and STATA, R is a free software, has a large range of functions and an active community of developers. Through the training we hope to strengthen the application of data science in environmental research.
