The BES successfully convened its 8th Board Meeting and Board Retreat on 27–28 July at Gangtey Palace, Paro, bringing together Board Members and the Secretariat for two days of strategic discussions, reflection, and planning.

The retreat commenced with an informal fireside chat, providing an opportunity for Board Members and the Secretariat to engage in meaningful conversations and strengthen collaboration ahead of the formal meeting.

The Board Meeting was officially opened by the President of BES, Dasho Benji, followed by a welcome address from the Executive Director. During the meeting, the Secretariat presented an overview of the Society’s achievements and progress in 2025, followed by updates on the implementation of the 2026 work plan.

Board members also reviewed the Society’s programmes, financial outlook, and revenue forecast and deliberated on key agenda items requiring Board approval. Discussions focused on strengthening BES’s strategic direction, enhancing programme impact, ensuring long-term sustainability, and identifying new opportunities for partnerships and growth.

The meeting concluded with an engaging exchange of ideas on the Society’s future, culminating in the Board’s directives and endorsements to guide BES’s priorities and activities in the coming months. The President delivered the closing remarks, reaffirming the Board’s continued commitment to advancing the Society’s mission of promoting environmental conservation and sustainable development in Bhutan.
