The SFS–Bhutan Autumn Semester 2025

The SFS–Bhutan Autumn Semester 2025 was formally launched this week under the collaborative initiative between Bhutan Ecological Society, College of Natural Resources, Royal University of Bhutan, and the School for Field Studies (SFS) head office based in Boston, the U.S. A cohort of 28 students from fifteen different colleges and universities across the United States arrived in Bhutan on September 3 to begin their three and half months stay.

The students will remain in Bhutan until December 11, engaging in academic courses and cultural immersion programs. They will also have opportunities to participate in community service projects, in partnership with local institutions such as tree planting and waste management, aimed at fostering both immediate and long-term environmental benefits for Bhutan.

The Semester marks yet another milestone in strengthening Bhutan’s educational and professional ties with international partner institutions.
