Leveraging Collaborative Research for Strengthening Food Systems, Water Security & Biodiversity Persistence
The SFS Center for Climate & Sustainable Futures hosted a two-day research planning meeting from August 26-27, 2024 in Paro. The meeting brought together leading researchers, faculty members, and stakeholders from CNR, SFS, and BES to review and discuss ongoing research priorities. The first day featured presentations on the successes and challenges faced by both CNR and SFS-BES in their research endeavors, followed by an open session to identify common issues and potential areas for collaboration.
The second day defined a delivery framework for effective collaboration with an agreement to initiate and collaborate on key research topics of mutual interest. Research topics to be covered included climate resilience, sustainable development, food systems, value chain development and ecological conservation.
The meeting marks the beginning of a significant step to foster and upscale collaborative research between SFS, BES and CNR, RUB to address critical environmental challenges and promote sustainable development in Bhutan.
