The Bhutan Ecological Society (BES) implemented the project “Climate Adaptation Through Energy Conservation: Merak Primary School” in 2017 with the financial support from the Bhutan Foundation. The project carried out electrical retrofitting of the classrooms and structural maintenance to make it energy-efficient and shield children from the harsh climatic condition. Eventually, it’s astonishing and motivating to know that our small initiative has made a huge impact on the lives of young minds and their learning process.  Above all else, it’s gratifying to know that the school already got recognition for improved academic performance.
